Staffordshire Teams were among the entrants at Saturday's (18th Feb) 20/20 Chess Tournament at Warwick University. Thanks to Newcastle-under-Lyme’s Peter Hornsby for organising the event which raised nearly £700 for Oxfam. Special praise is due to the Staffordshire Juniors team of Dylan Cooper (Newcastle), Joe Conway-Lees, Julian Kitchin, and Travis Hackett (Lichfield) who gained credible fourth place. Stafford and a composite Lichfield/ Burton team also entered. These teams met in the final round with Lichfield taking the honours and achieving the fifth place.
