Staffordshire have entered teams in the Under 1650 and
Under 1450 sections of the 2026/2027 Midland Counties Championship.
Connor Whetnall of Lichfield Chess Club has taken over from
Peter Evans as captain of the Under 1650 team and his contact details are shown
below.
As of August 2026, it is not proposed to enter an under
1850 side. However, if sufficient players and a captain come forward before the
end of August then the Association will make a competition entry.
Fixtures and results for the season will be shown in
the ECF LMS
Depending upon their success the teams can progress to
the National stages of the competition, with the Quarter Finals being held in
May, the Semi-Finals in June and the Final in July. If you would like to play
for any of these teams, rating permitting, then please contact the relevant
Team Captain, using the contact details below. They will be more than happy to
hear from you. Let's support Connor in his first season in the role.
